Solar

Handwritten letters for solar installers

The first full power bill at the new house just arrived, and it’s higher than they expected. Or the house came with panels and nobody explained the inverter or the monitoring app. Either way, they have questions and no one local to ask.

Sample letter

Hi neighbor, and welcome!

I’m Priya, owner of Sunridge Solar in Gilroy. A new house means a new power bill, and sometimes a surprise.

If your home already has panels, I can check they’re working right. If not, I’ll give you an honest look at whether solar makes sense.

Why new movers

Why new movers matter for solar

Someone just moved in down the street. They don’t have “a guy” yet. Every month, each new household in your zip gets a handwritten letter from you, in your own handwriting, in real ink.

The first bill sets them thinking

New owners compare their bill to the old place and start asking what they can do about it.

Inherited systems need a person

Buyers who get panels with the house often don’t know if they’re working, or who installed them.

Local beats a call center

A note signed by a local owner reads very differently from a phone call from a sales team.

Beyond new movers

One-time sends that fit solar

No subscription needed. You bring the reason and the addresses, we write and mail them once. From $2.95 a card.

  • Systems you installedA note to past customers offering a system check or a battery add-on.
  • Neighbors of an installAfter you put panels on a house, write to the street. They’ve all watched it go up.
  • Thank-you and referral askAfter the system is switched on, a handwritten thank-you asking them to pass your name along.

Exclusive

One solar installer per zip

Your territory is a zip code. Hold it, and no new household there hears from another solar installer through LocalLetters. Not like shared leads sold to three to five companies, and not an ad auction you have to win again tomorrow.

Smaller zips go to one company. Bigger ones take a bigger plan, or get split between two or three, but no household ever hears from two companies in the same trade. Other trades can hold the same zip, so a plumber and a roofer aren’t competing for it.

Questions

What solar installers ask

Do you write to homes that already have solar?

The welcome letter goes to all new movers in your zip. Write it so it makes sense either way, like the example above.

Is this a lead list I can call?

No. We mail the letter for you; you never get or touch a list. People who want to talk call or text you.

Can I talk about savings in the letter?

Keep it honest and simple. Offer to look at their bill and tell them straight whether it makes sense.

What does it cost?

Plans are $249, $449 or $999 a month for up to 50, 100 or 250 cards. That covers the move data, the cards, envelopes, writing, stamps and mailing. Cancel any time. See pricing.
