Handwritten letters for roofing companies
The inspection report said the roof had “some years left.” The new owners have no idea what that means. After the first big storm they will be up on a ladder looking for stains, or calling the roofer who already wrote to them.
Hello and welcome!
I’m Rick with Summit Roofing. We’ve been fixing roofs around here for years.
If your inspection said “monitor the roof,” I’ll come up and tell you what you’ve actually got, and how long it’s good for.
No charge to look. (831) 555-0193.

Why new movers matter for roofing
Someone just moved in down the street. They don’t have “a guy” yet. Every month, each new household in your zip gets a handwritten letter from you, in your own handwriting, in real ink.
The roof is a question mark
Buyers often see “monitor” or “near end of life” on the inspection and don’t know who to ask.
Storm calls go to known names
After a storm everyone is calling at once. The homeowner who kept your letter calls you first.
Trust beats a door knock
Storm chasers knock on doors. A handwritten note from a local owner who signs his name reads very differently.
Beyond new movers
One-time sends that fit roofing
No subscription needed. You bring the reason and the addresses, we write and mail them once. From $2.95 a card.
- “We just replaced your neighbor’s roof”After a job, write to the houses around it. Same builder, same age, often the same roof.
- After a stormA note to a zip you serve: you’re local, you’re around, here is how to reach you for an inspection.
- Thank-you and review askA handwritten thank-you after a replacement, with a line asking them to leave a review.
Exclusive
One roofer per zip
Your territory is a zip code. Hold it, and no new household there hears from another roofer through LocalLetters. Not like shared leads sold to three to five companies, and not an ad auction you have to win again tomorrow.
Smaller zips go to one company. Bigger ones take a bigger plan, or get split between two or three, but no household ever hears from two companies in the same trade. Other trades can hold the same zip, so a plumber and a roofer aren’t competing for it.
Questions
What roofing companies ask
Roofs last a long time. Why write to new movers?
Because they don’t know where theirs is in that life. The inspection raises the question; your letter answers it.
Can I send a batch around a job I just did?
Yes. That’s a one-time send. Tell us the address and how many houses around it, and we’ll write them.
Is this the same as storm canvassing?
No. It’s a personal letter from you, mailed in an envelope, and no other roofer writes to the same households through us.
What does it cost?
Plans are $249, $449 or $999 a month for up to 50, 100 or 250 cards. That covers the move data, the cards, envelopes, writing, stamps and mailing. Cancel any time. See pricing.
