Handwritten letters for lawn and landscaping companies
They moved in with a yard someone else planted. The grass is getting long, the sprinklers run at strange times, and they don’t own a mower yet. Whoever they hire now could be on their lawn every week for years.
Hi neighbor,
I’m Luis, I run GreenLine Lawn. We mow a lot of yards in this part of town, so we’re close by every week.
If you’d like a hand with the lawn while you settle in, or just want the sprinklers figured out, give me a call.
(408) 555-0126. Welcome home.
– Luis

Why new movers matter for lawn care
Someone just moved in down the street. They don’t have “a guy” yet. Every month, each new household in your zip gets a handwritten letter from you, in your own handwriting, in real ink.
Recurring work, not one job
A weekly or biweekly customer is worth a lot more than a single visit, and they rarely switch once it’s working.
Route density
A new customer on a street you already mow costs you almost nothing extra in drive time.
The yard is new to them
They don’t know the irrigation, the plants, or what was there before. They want someone who does.

- Spring and fall cleanupsA note to your zip before cleanup season so you fill the schedule ahead of time.
- Streets you already serveWrite to the houses between your current customers to tighten your route.
- Thank-you at season’s endA handwritten thank-you to weekly customers at the end of the season. It goes a long way toward next year.
Exclusive
One landscaper per zip
Your territory is a zip code. Hold it, and no new household there hears from another landscaper through LocalLetters. Not like shared leads sold to three to five companies, and not an ad auction you have to win again tomorrow.
Smaller zips go to one company. Bigger ones take a bigger plan, or get split between two or three, but no household ever hears from two companies in the same trade. Other trades can hold the same zip, so a plumber and a roofer aren’t competing for it.
Questions
What lawn and landscaping companies ask
Can I pick zips that match my route?
Yes. Your territory is a zip code. Pick the one where you already have trucks and check whether it’s open.
Will the letter go out in winter?
People move year-round, so letters go out every month. Change the wording for the season whenever you like.
I do design and installs, not mowing. Does it still fit?
Yes. New owners often redo the front yard in the first year or two. Say what you do in your own words.
What does it cost?
Plans are $249, $449 or $999 a month for up to 50, 100 or 250 cards. That covers the move data, the cards, envelopes, writing, stamps and mailing. Cancel any time. See pricing.
