Handwritten letters for handymen and remodelers
Every new owner starts a list the day they move in. Hang the TV, fix the sticky slider, patch the holes the last people left. Further down the list is the bathroom they want to redo. They need one person they trust for all of it.
Hi, and welcome!
I’m Ben, I run Oak & Iron Home Repair here in town. Moving in, you’ve probably already got a list going.
Shelves, doors that stick, the stuff the last owners never got to. Big or small, I’m glad to come take a look.

Why new movers matter for handyman and remodeling
Someone just moved in down the street. They don’t have “a guy” yet. Every month, each new household in your zip gets a handwritten letter from you, in your own handwriting, in real ink.
The list is longest in year one
New owners have more small jobs now than at any other time.
Small jobs lead to remodels
Do the shelves well and you’re the first call for the kitchen.
They want one trusted person
Rather than five apps and five strangers, most people want a guy. Be that guy.
Beyond new movers

- Pre-holiday fix-upsA note before the holidays, when people want the house ready for guests.
- Thank-you after a remodelA handwritten thank-you after a big job, asking for a review or a referral.
Exclusive
One handyman per zip
Your territory is a zip code. Hold it, and no new household there hears from another handyman through LocalLetters. Not like shared leads sold to three to five companies, and not an ad auction you have to win again tomorrow.
Smaller zips go to one company. Bigger ones take a bigger plan, or get split between two or three, but no household ever hears from two companies in the same trade. Other trades can hold the same zip, so a plumber and a roofer aren’t competing for it.
Questions
What handymen and remodelers ask
Should I say handyman or remodeler?
Say what you’d say in person. If you do both, mention the small stuff first. It’s the easiest first call.
Can I include photos of my work?
No. The card is written by a pen, in your handwriting, and that’s what gets it read. Tell them in the note where they can see your work.
What counts as the same trade for exclusivity?
Handyman and remodeling is one trade on our list. If you hold the zip, no other handyman or remodeler writes to the same households through us.
What does it cost?
Plans are $249, $449 or $999 a month for up to 50, 100 or 250 cards. That covers the move data, the cards, envelopes, writing, stamps and mailing. Cancel any time. See pricing.
