Garage doors

Handwritten letters for garage door companies

They got the keys and exactly one garage remote, and it only works sometimes. The door groans on the way up. They’re not sure if the opener is fifteen years old or five. When a spring snaps with the car inside, they need someone today.

Sample letter

Hi neighbor,

I’m Steve with Liftline Garage Doors in Gilroy. Funny thing about a new house: you only get one remote, and it’s the bad one.

If you need remotes or a keypad set up, or the door sounds rough, I can usually come the same week.

Cell: (408) 555-0109.

Why new movers

Why new movers matter for garage doors

Someone just moved in down the street. They don’t have “a guy” yet. Every month, each new household in your zip gets a handwritten letter from you, in your own handwriting, in real ink.

There’s always a first small job

Remotes, keypads, new codes for security. New owners want the old codes gone.

Broken springs are urgent

When the car is stuck inside, they call whoever they can find fastest. Be on the fridge already.

Small jobs build trust

The family you reprogrammed remotes for is the one who calls you for the new door.

Beyond new movers

One-time sends that fit garage doors

No subscription needed. You bring the reason and the addresses, we write and mail them once. From $2.95 a card.

  • “We just put in a new door on your street”Neighbors see the new door. A note from you gives them your number while it’s on their mind.
  • Tune-up and safety checksA note to past customers about spring and cable checks before winter.
  • Thank-you after an installA handwritten thank-you after a new door or opener, with a line asking for a review.

Exclusive

One garage door company per zip

Your territory is a zip code. Hold it, and no new household there hears from another garage door company through LocalLetters. Not like shared leads sold to three to five companies, and not an ad auction you have to win again tomorrow.

Smaller zips go to one company. Bigger ones take a bigger plan, or get split between two or three, but no household ever hears from two companies in the same trade. Other trades can hold the same zip, so a plumber and a roofer aren’t competing for it.

Questions

What garage door companies ask

Most of my work is emergencies. Does this fit?

Yes. The letter is there before the emergency, so they already have your number when the spring goes.

Can I mention changing the opener codes?

That’s a good one for new movers. Write it the way you’d say it to them in the driveway.

How big is my territory?

A zip code. Check yours and we’ll tell you if it’s open for garage doors.

What does it cost?

Plans are $249, $449 or $999 a month for up to 50, 100 or 250 cards. That covers the move data, the cards, envelopes, writing, stamps and mailing. Cancel any time. See pricing.
